With all of the manufacturers turning their back on ATV Racing except Yamaha, with the YFZ450R, Most racers believe that the only machine worth racing currently available on the market is the YFZ. However, we believe that is a mistake. The Raptor 700R was developed partly based on what Yamaha learned from the original race focused YFZ450. Sure, it is a l...

Great video, looking forward to watching the shoot out, rumour has it yamaha may be coming out with a 1000cc, hopefully
I agree, need rh side brake, for fronts only, just works better
the xxc and the xtp are the best one's in my eye's.
I can't believe they took off the 4th rotor and independent levers. I always thought that was a major difference between the renegade and Outlander.
not the same machine but one thing i like bout my grizz is the independent levers!
Great review and another great video man. I agree with the bucking in the rear and slowing down for square edge g outs. The machine does not like that situation. We have been happy with our 22 xxc with around 1200 miles on it now. It's a beast of a machine for sure. Future changes I would like to see from canam would be easier access to the air filter, and make it easier for transmission and rear diff fluid changes. Those are my 3 pet peeves on this machine.
No long travel? No independent braking? $15,949? So $21,000 with all that. Plus, it weighs 750#? Nope.
@@handsolo6241 Who makes long travel for this machine?
Exactly what I've been saying since getting my 2019 and desert racing it, especially about the brakes. Also, heat management could use a bit of work as well. The engine bay and shocks suffer in desert racing.
@@WildHorseMotoTX What's suspension seems adequate in the woods and fields around here. But the weight and travel make it harder to manage in the whoops i'm sure.
ATVonDemand review vids are the best. You keep making them, I'll keep watching.
@@JapanSkies More coming
That’s the grumpiest Renegade I’ve ever seen! 👍🏼
@@thenarrowpathatvchannel4316 😁🤘
Another Great Test! That machine looks fun! Great Job Atv on Demand!
Glad you enjoyed it. It's a lot of fun requires a lot of focus though.
I wish they would make the stance a little wider
Maybe a second version for more wide open terrain. That would be sweet.
Would you recommend this over the 2024 Raptor 700.. I’m making a purchase this weekend. I’ve been back and forth between the two.
Argh, just buy a u.t.v. your most of the way there.
@@handsolo6241 I thought about that, but I really wanna the experience of riding trails.. I just need a do it all type. Some days I’ll ride for fun.. and others I’ll do work with it.
@@Justin-os2zc Shoot me a message on instagram if you'd like to discuss it. A decision like this could make for a conversation.
Beast of a machine.. 👍👍👍
It's nuts😂
Great vid! Wicked looking machine! I'm only about $19,000 in change short.😂 Man would love to see a DS450 MX comeback, right?
A totally updated 450? If so sinus up!
GREAT VIDEO!
Thank you. It's a fun machine to featur.🤘
I’m looking for A arms and new shocks for my 2003 Suzuki Ltz400 ! Just picked it up and looking to widen it +2
@@manojimenez7169 What's your budget and how much do you care about quality? A-Arms, axle and shocks?
@@ATVonDemand I’m looking to spend 1,000-1,500 all together A-arms and shocks not axles unless you recommend that as well.
Nice 🔥🔥😈
Curious how it compares to a old honda 200sx
@@joeyholthusen6495 Not sure if any of us have ridden that machine. Like to try one.
Can-Am just keeps making the Renegade better! Can't wait to hear everyone's comments and questions!
I'm happy to share info. I'll even get in on the next video with my desert racer Outlander XXC
I hope u can also race the XMR like jumps and corners and it is stock
I own a 1985 200x
@@ATCTrikeGuy03 sweet!
This is a 99 Honda? She's beautiful!!
@@sonofapollo5892 2001, But they're pretty much identical. Thanks😁
This atv is slow and built quality is straight junk save ur money don’t buy Yamaha and bigger brands will for ever be the best I bought this atv new and the clutch forks are bad already I have 80s Yamaha that runs amazing all day long and shifts awesome
Trying to decide on a TRX450R or YFZ450R. I want something reliable and fun to use on the trail and in the dunes.
@@PorterPlatt-y6m Buy the yamaha. Parts for the hondas are becoming difficult to find.
This video should have waay more views and interactions in comments. The industry is ruining sport atvs by not producing new models from the other big 3. In California all you can buy is a new raptor. No Kodiak no grizzly no yfz450.
@@morromk7538 Really glad you enjoyed the video. California is communist, no doubt!
Love my 700r, big3, full fiber clutch, ,cuervo tuned. +2 arms on elka's, hess bar. Just way to much fun and a lot of room to grow into it. Takes such a better beatin then my 08 450r. 450r shines highly in full out racing styles.
Bike is constantly tipping, gee thats fun
It's not that unstable but it does have some body roll. It's the price you pay for having a BIG 4x4 WITH 91 hp.
Buy a Raptor 700R for $9500 and have 1000x more fun!!!
Will never give the fun of a Banshee!!! Banshee or nothing!!!
If you're a sport quad fan boy, nothing is better than a sport ATV.
Well built reliable simplistic. Comfy and fast!!! Only game in town. This sucker will keep up with quads twice the displacement. Easy choice
You don't need a huge ATV to have a lot ov fun.
these are good tires had a set for 10*yrs on my lifted golf cart at my vacation place out at lost lake resort in the californis desert they were very dry rotted and had no tread buy they still held air better than this other cart i got 5yrs ago with carlisle strykers those rotted in 5yrs.22x11-10
Sweet video and super informational! I think for that price point I'll stick to my used yfz 450s xD
Well, if a rider has the skill set and is big enough to ride a YFZ, there isn't much better.
@@ATVonDemand agreed! But for the price id rather buy an older bike in general and have free range on parts to customize it. A Yamaha blaster, or even a warrior would be solid as an entry platform. Plenty of parts to choose from as skills develop, and shops can work on em. If a bike is being imported and sold at a dealership, that mark up is going to make that bike closer to the TRX's 250X.
Change suspension settings maybe run bigger tires and better chain guard, add some power adders ull be on top in no time
Agreed💪
All octane does is prevent the gas from predestination and high compression engine so if the manual says you can run 87 run 87 instead of 93 also the higher the octane in theory the less power it will make
Can-Am says you can run eighty seven but you will make maximum horsepower with premium so...
@@ATVonDemand it is possible that I am wrong but I do a lot of work on vehicles and so I know a little bit about Motors and I understand it the higher the octane the better it is at resisting predestination and higher compression Vehicles that's why race fuel is super high octane is because it's a high compression engine that's what i was told was technically the higher the octane the less powerful make although it's a very small difference in theory the higher octane the less power it will make but that's what the manual says you can do that it doesn't really make much of a difference if any at all I just thought I would mention it
Owned a first gen polaris sportsman 500 that was as close to mint as you could find. Issues. Owned a second generation sportsman 500, worse issues. Buddy has a second generation 500, nothing but issues. Purchased a 2016 Scrambler 850 and blew a ball joint in the first 400 miles. CVT breather clamp never sat correctly either. Buddy purchased a brand new 570 in 2021 and it was officially lemon’d after 4 trips to the dealership under warranty. Faulty stock regulator and capacitor. Starter system sheared itself as well. Yet another friend had a scrambler 400 2 stroke, issues. He deleted the 4WD and that helped a little but still had cvt issues. Have learned my lesson with polaris.
I need to get of those
This is a nice throwback vid. I remember watching this back when it came out. Must have been around 10-11 years ago.
It eas
Now they some country boys right ther
True that!
Nice!!!
Most important thing, Chicks dig the Raptor. Enough said.
💪🤣
So many flashbacks... I still have all those issues of 3wheeling Magazines you used in the vid!!...as a teen i drooled all over the 1984 200x and 250r, although i was only riding an ATC110. Wasnt til 22 years later that I finally got the 85 250R id always wanted... Was worth the wait!!
I've had a hand full of 250r's over the years. It takes a special kind of maniac to haul ass over whoops on a 3 wheeler. 😂👍🏻
I went with the CT 350 kit and swing arm etc.. Being in front is always better.
That should not be a problem for you at this point. 🤣🤘
Question did the new throttle and clutch cables make the throttle and clutch any lighter? Is it worth it
Hit me the pull a little lighter and smoother. It's way less expensive than having one break on a trail ride and ruin your weekend.
Widen it giver the big 5 and oh baby
Good plan
I never even considered owning a Raptor until I saw your video comparing it to the YFZ450R. I decided to buy a brand new quad and as an XC racer I planned to buy the YFZ. But after watching that video I felt like the Raptor was right for me. 3 years later I have no regrets. There's a lot to like about the Raptor from an XC perspective. Everything that makes it a great trail quad makes it a great XC quad IMO. I love it. Keep up the good work.
Had to pin this comment! Thanks.
I’m the same way! I’ve always been Honda guy. Never liked Raptors but now that I’m a little older and don’t race GNCC anymore I like the smooth power and ability to lug it around.
I love my raptor 700 an its my first manual machine it's very forgiving an will go pretty much anywhere you point the wheels.
Is a stock Scrambler wider than the Renegade and does more width help on fast trails and drift ability ?
I wish they would make more two stroke quads
I race XC and Knobby quad TT on my 2022 raptor 700 and it slaps around all but the fastest guys on 450s (I am fast, I’m not that fast) and every time I pass a broken 450 in an XC setting I smile and remember why I chose the raptor over the 450. The only thing I change is my track width. I run 47.5 in the woods and 49.5 in TT. I have the big three mods and that’s it. It doesn’t need anything else and I have seen personally raptors with over 400 hours of hard abuse in race and play on factory top and bottom ends. Unless you’re going pro, the 450 is a headache and less fun in my opinion.
We don't think it would take very much to make one competitive either. Internal motor mods are simply unnecessary.
Could make this a series where you do a few mods at a time and turn it into a full XC machine.
That's a good idea.
I love my ‘22 Raptor 700r SE
If youre running skids, why in the world run alum vs composite? Also, that's a huge rookie mistake not adjusting suspension for the mud that was clearly there before you lined up lol Either way, solid vid. Shame there isn't enough of a market for a new machine from Yami (or anyone, for that matter). Although we MIGHT get something interesting out of Suzuki now that they've got their ship in order...high hp 4wd tho...no solid axle sport quad in the rumor mill
Aluminum skids were fine for the mud.The big problem was the swing arm skid plate. Find for trail riding but not ideal for racing. We kind of realized that the weight from mud might be a problem but didn't have a second suspension setting to go to. If we were to do it again we would show up with two suspension settings, one for normal weight and one with plus seventy pounds. Here is betting a lot of racers don't have that data on their built machines.. We lived up to our mistakes in the video. Glad you enjoyed it. We would love to see anything new from suzuki.
@@ATVonDemand tbf not a lot of class a riders even use skids...especially in the mud...
@ATVonDemand also I misspoke, the rumored new atv is a yami; 4x4, 1000cc, high hp unit to compete with scrambler/renegade xxc. They are using the RMAX powertrain, but tuned to what I don't know. There are drawings floating around out there but I couldn't find them to link for you
Shredder
Most def.
Some suspension and a 24v kit and I think they would be a real weapon
Agreed
